As part of her residency, Dr. Walker completed two years of pediatric exposure in order to become better acquainted with children's medicine. Dr. Walker received her M.D. from the University of North Carolina School Of Medicine in Chapel Hill and a B.A. from the College of Wooster, where she majored in computer science and minored in biochemistry. Dr. Walker enjoys working with a broad spectrum of diagnoses in child and adolescent psychiatry. She prefers a holistic approach that combines both medication and talk therapy in order to to improve quality of life while minimizing medication.
Side notes ~ 1. Do not take your child to Provena Medical Center in Joliet if your child is under the age of 12. 2. Do not take your child to Provena Psych Unit in Aurora - no matter the age. 3. DO take your child directly to Children's Memorial Hospital if needed and skip the local (Joliet/Will County) hospitilization care.
